there are a few 'self designed' radio sites that I know about. Last.fm or something like that, and the one I've been listening to recently is pandora.com . So far they made good with the choices I say I like, playing similar stuff. Give it a looksie!

I bought two Collective Soul albums:

Colletive Soul (self titled)
Discpline Breakdown

Both are very good, and sometime I'll write up particular lyrics that I like from one or the other album, or both. But not today.

I also got "Who we are instead" by Jars of Clay. It's very different style as to how they started but I like it and think the lyrics in particular are very laden with meaning/depth.

did i tell you that my sting album of "brand new day" was scratched beyond possible playability? sigh. The online seller for it REALLY shouldn't have sold it. It wasn't saleable. tsk. I think i'll be alright without it though. heh.

Sting

I listened to "Brand New Day" a LOT on the ship... as well as "All This Time".

I just bought both albums off of used amazon.com. Great, and cheap. Ethical? Yeeeah, I think so. They probably just ripped them and did resale, but i don't know that. hm.. looking forward to receiving those in the mail sometime between now and next weekend. (c: oh boy. I can hardly wait. I'm singing the songs from it already, imagining the tunes, thinking about the words.

I'll write more about it when I get the CD's. Happy birthday to myself, eh? yeh-haa!

"Lift" by Audio Adrenaline again after a few weeks break from it.
-such good music. I really like how it is 1) upbeat and 2) worshipful and I guess 3) not cheesy worshipful, but lively worshipful.

Dudu, by Tarkan: A Turkish Pop singer who incorporates traditional style with modern pop. The school kids in Turkey could all sing in unison (very well) the main hit song of his called "dudu". This music is better than most pop I've heard here in the US.

Stanley Climbfall by Lifehouse, but I usually skip most of it because it is slow, and I've over-listened to it. Tends to be depressing.

I had a two week craze over VNV's "Electronaut". The only song on the album which doesn't have words. It's very futuristic techno, but for some reason the unusual rhythm just grabbed my attention. I was introduced to it by my friend Phil's streaming server (which is now down).

I'll finish this post with an english Translation of the song "Dudu" by Tarkan. It smacks of Song of Solomon for some reason (style/wording... not really the idea). Dudu means "Woman".

I like this song a lot. I've been listening to "Lift" in the car while I drive around. It's been my opportunity to worship during the week, because my weeks are now so busy, I don't have much time to sing worship (besides while I'm singing to machinery).

What I like about the song is that it says, "My mind is numb, my stomach sick, broken hearts, hopeless things.. I've seen what defiance brings." and then it continues on by saying "speak to me, i want to hear you now, i've opened Your Word..." I've had a similar experience lately. Been defiant to God and His will for me. The results are a broken fellowship/relationship, feeling sick inside, mind numb, a bit hopeless. But not that hopeless, just a strong sense of regret and loss. So, the song softly speaks the same thing my heart does. "speak to me, i'm listening, returning, ready to hear You, opening Your Word." Restoration is never quick in a relationship, and the older I am, the more I know how wrong it is as I am willfully sinning against God. The damage takes longer to heal, my relationship means more as a result. Grace out of wrongdoing.
